ORCHARD CENTER SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST

FIRST GRADE

2017-18

Dear Family:

Here is a list of supplies that your child will need for the school year. We would appreciate your support in providing the following items for shared classroom use. Please DO NOT label these items with your child’s name:

1 plastic school pencil box*

1 box (of 12) #2 Ticonderoga yellow pencils (pre-sharpened please!)

1 box colored pencils*

2 package of glue sticks (4 pks)

1 box of wide-tip dry erase markers (low odor or unscented) BLACK ONLY!

2 boxes of washable markers (1 wide-tip and 1 thin-tip)*

1 box of crayons (no more than 24 to a box)*

2 to 4 large pink school erasers

1 or 2 spiral, wide ruled, 1 subject notebook (70 sheets)

1 Fiskars brand scissors

1 wide ruled composition notebook

Watercolor paints

1 box of Kleenex (tissues)

1 box of crackers (any kind)

Box of 2 gallon size Ziplock bags

If your child’s last name begins with A-E, please bring 1 box of Ziploc sandwich bags

If your child’s last name begins with F-L, please bring 1 box of gallon size Ziploc bags

If your child’s last name begins with M-Z, please bring in 1 container of Clorox Sanitary Wipes

*Please open your washable markers, crayons & colored pencils and place them in the pencil box to be stored in their desk. All other items will be collected.

Your child DOES need a backpack (no wheels please) and the backpack needs to be large enough for library books and folders that will contain daily schoolwork, homework, important school notices, etc. Your child also will need a water bottle labeled with his/her name to keep at school. We will send it home every-so-often for a good, soapy cleaning. Thank you so much!

*Please DO NOT send your child to school with a pencil sharpener.  They are unnecessary, and they often create many little messes.  They can also pose a safety hazard, as the razor blade in the sharpener can easily be removed.
